Shelby Brown

Shelby Brown first hit the airwaves in 2003 with a compact disc entitled Miracle a project that he and guitarists Dee Brown collaborated on. Miracle landed them the number 7 spot on the DMX Smooth Jazz Chart for 6 weeks. In 2005 Shelby released his first solo project entitled No Boundaries which generated a buzz from Detroit to Singapore. After taking time off for fine tuning. Shelby released a bombshell to the jazz genre entitled The Meaning of Life in the summer of 2010. The Meaning of Life charted in the top 50 on smoothjazz.com for 20 weeks, and is currently holding the number 15 spot on the Smooth Indie Star Smooth Jazz Charts.

In January of 2007, Shelby became the proud endorser of Dymusic USA & Wisemann Saxophones which he shared with Grammy Award winning sax-man Marion Meadows. This new partnership has Shelby taken him from the United States to Beijing and Shanghai.

In January of 2008, Shelby became the proud endorser of Remle Musical Products Inc. (manufacturer of Beechler Mouthpieces) of Northridge CA, Soundwear Gig Bags (manufacturer of Saxophone Cases) of Erlangen Germany, & Oleg Products Inc. (manufacturer of custom Saxophone Accessories) of Los Angeles CA. In June of 2010, Shelby became the proud endorser of L. A. Sax which he shares with Grammy Award winning sax-man Kim Waters.

In addition to sharing the stage with some of the best and most famous musicians in the industry such as Marion Meadows, Tim Bowman, Alex Bugnon, Bob Baldwin, Nick Colionne, Spyro Gyra, & Nelson Rangell. Shelby has performed internationally for the United States Military. Entertaining Troops serving in Japan, Korea, Diego Garcia & Singapore.

Acknowledged by many for his spirit of giving back Shelby teaches young children, teens and adults how to read, write and compose music as well as donating instruments to under privileged children. Shelby’s signature model saxophone complements his newest collection of Smooth Jazz instrumentals and vocals. The Meaning of Life covers the spectrum of contemporary Jazz.

Some stand out tracks are All Out which features a rhythmic solo by Nick Colionne, Planes Trains & Automobiles with a vocal performance by Chanda Long and Cold In Misawa. A song written by Shelby while touring the winter months of Japan. Listen for the Jazzy sounds of Shelby Brown and you will be reminded of a great musical legacy. The Meaning of Life captures the rich tapestry of contemporary music.
