John Boles - General Manager

 

I’ve been in the music business literally all my life. As a kid I’d go on the road with my father who worked for Gibson guitars, known at that time as Chicago Musical Instruments (CMI). I studied guitar and music theory at the collegiate level and then toured around the country for a couple years in a band I was in.

After realizing that was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, I went to work for Dennis Bamber at the Woodwind and Brasswind. I started out as a phone rep but quickly worked my way up the ladder to become a senior manager on staff. Among my many titles I held over the 20+ years were Call Center Mgr, Customer Service Mgr, Inventory Control and Warehouse Mgr. My final assignment was managing the Customer Guitar Shop where my passion for the guitar was able to be totally expressed.

I’m very proud and excited about our new venture here at Music Factory Direct. The lessons I’ve learned inside the music industry, as well as being a consumer myself, have taught me a couple things.
