I have been in the music industry for over 20 years starting as a Customer Service Representative for the Selmer Company. After years of becoming very familiar with Ludwig and Musser instruments and parts I became the Customer Service Liaison with the Ludwig and Musser factories. I accepted the Assistant Percussion Manager position at the The Woodwind & Brasswind in 1999 where I sold and marketed all major brands of drums and percussion instruments and accessories. I was appointed the position of Combo Percussion Buyer in 2005. I later became the Concert and Marching Percussion Buyer for The Woodwind & Brasswind and Musician’s Friend becoming familiar.
I am an active performer, playing drums in either a jazz trio, classic rock band or a seven piece horn band. The horn band is known as The Whistle Pigs http://whistlepigsband.com/ which I have been performing with for over 17 years. This seven-piece dance band is a close-knit family of musicians who have performed with such groups as the Temptations, South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Charlie Daniels, Roomful of Blues, Electric Amish, Mary Wilson, The Supremes, The Byrds, Lonnie Brooks, War, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and America. As a graduate of Indiana University at South Bend School of Business and an alumnus of their jazz band, I was heavily influenced by drummers such as Steve Gadd, Buddy Rich, Bernard Purdy, Richie Morales, James Bradley Jr. and a variety of Latin drummers. As a member of the Jim Pickley Jazz Trio since 1987, I appreciate Jazz improvisation. I have performed in Rock, Funk, Latin, Swing, Bebop, Blues, Country and Gospel groups and even Musicals. Through my versatility, I have performed and recorded with hundreds of local musicians and national acts. |
