The Big Lip Tenor is one of the best buys I've ever had on musical equipment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The horn itself has an absolutely beautiful finish. The silver seemed a tiny bit sloppy and the black seems somewhat thin only when viewed very meticulously. I have had nothing but compliments about the look of the horn. As for the sound... The horn has a beautiful low end and the action is very smooth. The ergo is great and reminds me of the yamaha I was playing on before. People used to high palm keys may want risers for these, but I love them just the way they are. The case the horn shipped with is a great item as well. Very solid and light with great locking action (nobody likes their case opening up when you pick it up). The only thing I would advise is the same I would of any sax... Take it to your repair shop and have them tweak it right after receiving it. Everyone wants to play with their new toy and not give it up, but minor fixes for me are really helping my enjoyment of the horn. The Bb side key didn't have very good action or alignment and a minor leak made the mid range seem thin at first. All solved. I wish they made LA Sax Big Lip Bari saxes! Thanks! Adam T.
