Alicia Keys celebrates tenth anniversary of her breakthrough album
Grammy winner Alicia Keys will celebrate the tenth anniversary of her debut album, Songs in A Minor, with a two-disc deluxe edition, three-disc collector's edition and first-ever vinyl version of the collection.
Legacy Recordings will offer the new releases starting June 28, followed by a June 30 concert at New York City's Beacon Theatre to celebrate the milestone. Tickets go on sale May 6.
When it was released in June 2001, Keys' breakthrough album included the singer-songwriter's first hit single, Fallin', which was number one for six weeks on Billboard's Hot 100, Billboard.com reported. The collection topped the Billboard 200 albums chart for three weeks.
It also signaled the beginning of her Grammy wins, which now stand at 14 awards. Songs in A Minor earned Keys five trophies, including best new artist, best song of the year and best R&B album. The collection has sold 6.2 million copies in the U.S. alone, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"This album is possibly the most precious to me as your first album only happens once," Keys stated on her website. "I'm so proud the songs are still being enjoyed, and I'm crazy excited to share songs never heard before."
