Nicki Minaj will be the guest artist on Britney Spears upcoming tour
It's official. The rumors that Nicki Minaj will be featured in the upcoming Femme Fatale tour have been confirmed on Britney Spears' website.
"This is the 'Femme Fatale' tour and I'm thrilled to have the hot Nicki Minaj join me and Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo will get everyone on the dance floor," Spears said in a statement about the all-female lineup. "Can't wait to take the Femme Fatales on the road."
Tickets go on sale April 30 for the tour, which kicks off June 16 in Sacramento, California, and runs through August 13 in Toronto.
Femme Fatale became Spears' sixth number one album on the Billboard 200 chart earlier this month when it sold 276,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielson SoundScan. Of her seven albums, only Blackout in 2007 failed to reach the pinnacle spot. It peaked at number two.
Spears is now third among women vocal artists - tied with Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson - who have reached number one multiple times with their albums. Madonna has had seven number one collections and Barbra Streisand still leads the pack with an unparalleled nine albums to reach the coveted top slot.
