The Holton H105's technological and acoustical flexibility enables the artist to perform accurately in a wide range of performance situations. Its two interchangeable mouth pipes with newly developed tapers make it easy to switch between work in small chamber ensembles and large symphony orchestras. The small-venturi mouth pipe is more focused for chamber orchestra and high-register work. The large-venturi mouth pipe is more free-blowing, creating an excellent orchestral horn. The specially tempered red brass bell produces a rich, dark sound capable of great volume without getting brassy.
