Hey there! As a recording artist I've played a lot of horns! When something new comes out, I have to try it to make sure I'm not missing something. I've been playing on my old Selmer Paris horns for years and I've been happy with that. However, I had been keeping my eye out for a suitable 'back up horn' for years. But not just any horn, I needed one that played as well as my selmers, but didn't cost as much! I just had to try these cool lookin LA Saxes! I like the vintage look so I ordered a Big Lip Warrior Finish Alto and Tenor! To my amazement these things look 10 times better than they do in the pics, the engraving and attention to detail is great, the feel and weight is great and so is the action. More importantly, the sound! I was amazed that they played so well right out of the box even! Huge sound from top to bottom. Beefy low end with a crisp high end without sounding tinny. The altissimo pops out with ease, much easier than my selmers I might add! In fact, everything popped out easier than my selmers and I just had them adjusted! What's more, the cases these come in are very nice, durable, and usable! Great compartments for mouthpieces etc and lightweight with straps! Might I also recommend the big lip soprano, I bought the one piece straight satin doll soprano and it's equally impressive! Great looker, great sound. I recorded with it and can't tell the difference between that and my other high end soprano I've been playing on for years and that says a lot! I highly recommend whether you're a student or a pro!
