Great student reeds. They work great for learning to play. The royals work right out of the box. no need to warm up with these reeds. i don't recommend these reeds after middle school because the tone they produce is not warm or gentle. Amazing reed to start with. Gets them going on the right foot. I learned on these reeds. size 2.5. Now a professional paid musician playing all over america and europe
